Effective Providers Program invited to the Department of Justice (DOJ)

At the invitation of Phelan Wryck, PhD, senior advisor to the Office of Assistant Attorney General and co-chair of the DOJ Defending Childhood Initiative, Julia da Silva, director of the Violence Prevention Office, presented at the U.S. Department of Justice on April 27, about the DOJ/Office for Victims of Crime-grant funded Effective Providers for Child Victims of Violence Program. Attendees included 14 participants on-site and three to four by phone, representing various offices within DOJ. DOJ staff expressed enthusiasm and praise for APA’s work within the Effective Providers Program. As a result of the positive response to the presentation, Director da Silva will be presenting to other groups in the coming months.
