Chapter XV. Central Office
Council commended the Central Office staff for its support and assistance in ensuring that psychology’s voice is heard in the ongoing debates over public policy issues that face our nation. Furthermore, Council affirmed that it is a proper function of Central Office staff to facilitate the public policy actions of delegations of psychologists sponsored by boards, committees, divisions, or state and provincial and commonwealth psychological associations that request such assistance when the public policy actions are consistent with established APA policy. The requests shall be coordinated through the regular channels of Central Office operations. Such public policy actions shall include, but not be limited to, arranging meetings with elected federal representatives, facilitating coalition building with other groups to promote legislation, and coordinating the participation of psychologists in activities whose aims are consistent with established APA policies.
